Melodie Kindret has just opened the new Edward Jones office in Rainbow Falls. She invites everyone to her grand opening - June 1st 4pm - 7pm

New business helping families plan their financial future

For financial advisor Melodie Kindret, helping people plan their futures and assisting them in making important life decisions is something she is very passionate about.

Growing up in Revelstoke, British Columbia, at the young age of 18, Kindret knew that a career with financial services was her future. Her path led her to Chestermere just two years ago with her two grown daughters and she has already become very involved with the community as she is a member of the Chestermere Area Networking Group and has recently become a Rotarian with the Chestermere Rotary Club.

“I was very community oriented in Revelstoke. I worked at the Credit Union which was very community oriented and I’ve also tried to give back”, says Kindret.

With almost thirty years in the financial industry, Kindret still has a deep passion for the services she gets to help people with. “When I left the Credit Union, I was managing the wealth management services which is basically doing the same things I’m now doing here. This gave me the opportunity to work for a larger company and work for myself under the Edward Jones umbrella”, explains Kindret.

Upon coming to Chestermere, Kindret had been operating this business out of her home, but has recently moved into new office space on Rainbow Road across from Eric’s No Frills. “The driving force for me moving into office space was so that I could have more structure and so that I could bring on an assistant”.

One unique thing about Kindret is that she is a certified Financial Planner, which she says that most financial advisors are not. “I do life insurance, I can help families with children that have disabilities if they qualify for the Disability Tax Credit, I help with RESP’s and the planning piece is usually what people don’t have. People know how much money they have but they don’t necessarily know if they have enough to retire”, says Kindret.

When clients enlist the services that Kindret can offer, it begins with a full review and close look at where they are financially. What the client makes, where they’re spending their money and what their goals are for the future. Kindret then helps the map a step-by-step, custom plan that helps get the on the path they want and reach their financial and life goals.
“I really like to show tax efficiencies and really helping clients getting to their goals. My focus is my clients”, says Kindret, who says she has over 100 families that she is currently working with.

Once that first meeting is had and a plan is in place, Kindret says that she prides herself on staying in touch with her clients a couple times a year just to check in. “Of course, any of my clients that go through some sort of life change – perhaps they get separated or they get an inheritance or something like that, I always ask that they touch base and we can re-asses their plan if needed”.

The model of Edward Jones is not a pay for service, so clients can get a full financial analysis and the support of a plan and help sticking to that plan just on the expectation that the client will do business with their Edward Jones advisor.

With a great relationship built with the newly opened Chestermere Law office, Kindret also helps in the planning of wills, estate planning and then does referrals to the legal team at Chestermere Law when needed. “I don’t make money on wills, but it is one of the first things that I will harp on my clients about”, adds Kindret.

Kindret not only helps individuals and families, but also helps business owners for over twenty years alongside their accountants and lawyers to ensure that everyone stays on the same page.

Having a huge passion for community and getting involved, Kindret says that she is very happy to be serving her clients and also giving back through her work with the Rotary and supporting other local businesses.

The pubic is invited to attend the grand opening being held on Wednesday June 1st, there will be a Grand Opening at the new Edward Jones office from 4pm – 7pm located at 203, 100 Rainbow Road.

If you’d like to book an appointment to meet with Melodie, you can call her office at 403-235-4006.
