Since first opening their doors in May 2014, the Obsidian Rose family has been welcomed with open arms to the Chestermere community. The opening of Obsidian Rose had been a long-time dream of husband and wife team, Tim and Emma Ashman, who own the shop. Over the past year, many others have joined the Obsidian family as they have become increasingly busy and extra hands were needed.
This very modern tattoo shop has a very esthetically pleasing design. The front lobby/ consultation area boasts large windows along with leather couches and of course a Red Bull fridge. “We are a family run shop that plans to change the stigma around the dreaded “tattoo shop” persona. We are different and we like that”.
With now having a year under their belt, they wanted to throw a party to thank the community for welcoming them and to show appreciation for their clients. On Sunday May 17, 2015, the crew at Obsidian held a free BBQ to say thank you. Delicious burgers were served, there was face painting, colouring contest, and art show, the guys from Team Revere brought some amazing cars out for the event and there was live music provided by local duo “Hummingbird Dragonfly”. No Frills owner, Eric Sinclair, generously donated all the food for the BBQ.
Since joining the Chestermere community, the awesome team of Obsidian Rose has definitely become huge supporters of many community events and initiatives. Becoming community partners with Synergy, participating in many community events and supporting students in their love of art.
Happy Anniversary Obsidian Rose!
