There has been a lot of speculation on what new businesses will occupy the new buildings going up in the Chestermere Station Way area of town. Although that information is still under lock and key somewhere, it has been confirmed that a Browns Socialhouse will be joining our neighbourhood.
Andrea L. Baxter, Director of Marketing for the Browns Restaurant Group, has confirmed that construction will begin on the new restaurant in early 2015 with the hopes of being open for business mid-2015. “We are building out a lot of Socialhouses in Alberta with Edmonton and Calgary both 10 unit MUDA deals (Multi-unit Development Agreements). Our plan is to have close to 10 Browns Socialhouses in Alberta in 2015. Exciting market for us as we are Canada’s most talked about franchise brands in the Premium Casual Dining Industry. We thrive on doing thing differently and live by the mantra “No-Finish Line” (NFL) in everything we do. Our food program, design, construction, music, marketing – you name it, we consider ourselves game changers in all of these areas because we are constantly pushing the envelope. We also have a smaller footprint (our sweet spot in terms of restaurant size is approx. 3500 sq ft) which allows us to go into smaller markets where a lot of big box style restaurants don’t fit or won’t go. This also opens up the door to industry veterans who have always wanted to own their own restaurant – the capital and investment is much lower than most. But they also have the opportunity to become part of a great brand that is growing very fast and has proven to be a successful model. As of today, we are opening our first Eastern Canada location in Erin Mills, Ontario. This will be our Eastern Training location as well for all new franchisees coming into the system. Early this year, we opened our Western Corporate Training and Test kitchen which has been a huge success.” explained Andrea.
