It was a gorgeous summer day on Saturday – perfect for the grand opening barbecue held by Tirecraft. The kings and queens of the barbecue slaved over their grills in the burning sun to make sure that everyone was fed; and they were, at least 200 in the first hour!
The Chestermere Fire Department even provided one of their fire trucks to give the children in attendance a tour with a show and tell. The drivers of the fire truck and the EMT vehicle were happy to partake in food served up for them from the barbecue.
Attending children obviously enjoyed the bouncy house and crowded around the ice cream truck while their parents sat nearby under awnings, eating lunch while being entertained by artist Ric Tough perform songs like Beetles Reggae. It was a very family focused event and the staff of Tirecraft was friendly and helpful.
“Tirecraft wants to be a business that is involved in the community and this Stampede barbecue was a great start to reaching that goal”, says Mark Bates, manager of the Chestermere Tirecraft location.
And, as you know, the Best Western Plus hotel will be constructed beside Tirecraft. When asked how the hotel will affect business Bates indicated he is mostly concerned that their signage remain visible to the public; and as long as the hotel doesn’t do that he is fine with it being built there. A hotel is far more likely to draw transient rather than local traffic but, with both types of traffic there are always going to be vehicular dilemmas that a conveniently located auto repair shop can fix.
As a highlight to RV owners – Tirecraft has an extra high bay door that permits RV’s to be driven right into the garage for repair. It’s fantastic for the community of Chestermere that Tirecraft opened when it did so that everyone who is preparing for that RV summer vacation can ensure that everything is in tip top condition before hitting the road.
The barbecue included a raffle table set up outside the doors of Tirecraft and throughout the day entered their names “in the pot” for the drawing of the fabulous flat screen TV and barbecue. The lucky winner of the television was Donna Timmerman’s and the barbecue went to Victoria Vega. Congratulations!
Tirecraft wants to say thank you to the community of Chestermere for their participation, support, and patronage.
