Kaheeyu Mountain Institute

Kaheeyu

Bridging the worlds of ancient and modern, art and science, energy and matter

Kaheeyu

This institute made its debut at the Mind, Body, and Spirit Expo this past weekend as part of the Country Garden Crystals’ booth and was founded by Chestermere resident Maureen Durant, Sylvie Boustie, and Jaki Daniels.

The Kaheeyu Mountain Institute is an online experience where users can become involved in a network of likeminded practitioners. Durant, Boustie, and Daniels wish to bridge the gap between both ancient and modern teachings about learning, knowing, living and healing by offering services that people can participate in or book appointments for in order to access different healing resources.

The website features upcoming events that the Kaheeyu Mountain Institute will be physically in attendance for, where people can come and see the joint services that they offer. It also offers Jaki Daniels’ books that she has written: The Medicine Path, and Heeding the Call.

Some healing services they offer are Five Element Healing, Aromatherapy and Herbalism, Shamanic Healing, and Reiki. They also organize ceremonies such as drumming circles and evening fire ceremonies, which are to allow individuals to understand themselves at a spiritual and physical level, as well as the relationship they hold with others.

Workshops and training sessions are taught in order to enhance and strengthen each students’ gifts so that they can use and offer them to others. Some include the Art of Aromatherapy, Five Elemental Healing, Reiki, Crystals and Gemstones, and Flower Essences. Indigenous wisdom courses are also an option as well, such as Drum Journeys and Totem Animals, Medicine Wheels, Smudging, and Sacred Tools.

Daniels was adopted into the Cree traditional ways in 2000 and given the name ‘One Who Walks With Eagle Mountain’, and later used the phonetic translation of the Cree word ‘eagle’ to create the name of Kaheeyu Mountain Institute. As a Natural Healing Arts Practitioner, she also provides ceremonial services as a Spiritual Elder.

Boustie herself was the first graduate of Jaki’s Natural Healing Arts Practitioner training, which included Five Element Healing. This is a healing practice that aims to balance all five elements of nature. It is used for achieving mental, physical, and spiritual harmony.
It has been shown to benefit conditions such as insomnia, depression, low energy, eating disorders, addictions, PTSD, and many more.

Chestermere resident Maureen Durant has extensive training in three Reiki modalities, and has always had an interest in humane and holistic alternative approaches to the health and wellness of people. Currently, she is enrolled as an apprentice in the Natural Healing Arts Practitioner training with Daniels.
